Happiness lies in the small things

Sharing is Caring !!

They say the very best things with life are generally free. Beyond the shadow of any doubt, the listing below proves that statement for being true. Life is loaded with simple treats, the minor satisfying effects, they are the gifts of life that people unconsciously celebrate inside our own in a distinctive way.

Here are some of the simple things in life which offers abundant happiness !!

Sleeping In on the Rainy Day:

Because rainy days just make the head go deeper directly into the pillow. The soothing sound of rain drops along with your bed seems like a sanctuary. There isn’t any place you’d probably rather possibly be.

Finding Money You Didn’t Know You’d:

Finding money in pocket of pants which you donned earlier. It just makes you feel a lot richer than you were a minute earlier.

Telling the Funny or even Interesting Story :

Just about the most enticing jobs you lead in existence is that from the storyteller. You’re keen on to reveal stories, especially people that will captivate your crowd with heavy curiosity and also humor. You’ll find few things more satisfying than telling a true story of which others enjoy enjoying.

Seeing a friend Stumble Around Himself :

Watching your friend missing his footing & stumbling across while walking along. This is out rightly a hilarious sight if the moment is right.

More time to Sleep :

Some thing abruptly awakens you and you think it’s time to get up. Then you squint at your noisy alarm and realize you still have 2 more hours to sleeping. A comfortable euphoric experience shoots though one’s body as you glide gracefully returning to your dream state.

A Lovely View :

When the vehicle veers round the side from the mountain you gaze through the passenger window. The view of whole valley below loaded with wild bouquets and vibrant green plant life. The landscape reminds you of something you saw in National Geographic. But here it truly is live, right before your eyes.

Good Times with friends :

There is absolutely no simple pleasure more satisfying than recounting the best moments in your life with the closest friends who were part of those moments alongside you.

Receiving a Compliment :

Unexpected compliments on a dull and boring average day just gives a great boost and makes it a better day.

Having a good Laugh:

Laughter is the greatest medicine. Life is extraordinary when you are laughing so hard , those moments of heavy laughter are generally medicinal in the sense that they cleanse the mood and also set the mind on an optimistic track.

Playing inside the Water :

From leaping in puddles as being a child, to doing cannon balls inside the pool for adolescent, to experiencing a cocktail inside the bathtubs for adult, water is absolutely satisfying.

Making Others Smile :

Smile is contagious. When you make someone smile, it automatically makes you smile.

Finishing:

You simply finished up a huge project you’ve been focusing on the past few several weeks, or you just finished your first marathon. The experience of self applied accomplishment you receive when you finish what you started is undoubtedly the most rewarding simple pleasures life is offering.

Looking UP

Sharing is Caring !!

Life is full of ups and downs. And only when we go down, we look up for some miracle/hope to inspire us and to fill us with positivity. Same happens in everyone’s life.  This is one such incident which describes how I looked up for hope and what inspired me and filled me with optimism during an adversity.

It was February 2010 , I was in my final year of college. It was time for campus interviews. The company schedule was announced and around 10 companies were visiting our college in the span of 1 month. To get a reputed name from these MNCs our college started giving coaching classes on how to clear the interview rounds such as aptitude test, group discussion, technical and HR rounds. As everyone was preparing vigorously to get placed during college days itself, I too started studying and preparing myself for these interviews.

Days passed and it was time for the first interview. The very first company was HCL and we were all asked to assemble in the lab. There were three rounds to clear. First one was aptitude and folks clearing it was asked to sit in 5 member group for a group discussion. I cleared both of these with ease. Next came the technical round. A Panel of 3 members were sitting inside staff room in our lab. There were five such panels during the interview. One by one students were called upon according to their roll numbers. One of my friend came out with a very bright smile after his interview in just 2 or 3 minutes. When we asked what questions were asked he replied like ‘whats your name? tell about yourself, why did you chose this college?‘. Clock was ticking and I was eagerly waiting for my chance to come. Most of the out coming students were coming with a smile because of the simple questions they faced in interview.

After a long wait my time finally came, I went in and shook hands with the 3 panelists. They asked to introduce myself. As I was introducing myself, one of the panel member got a call and he left. The other guy was sipping his coffee with biscuits. The remaining panelist took my resume and started to go through it. He stumbled upon my final year project. As it was done using JAVA APPLETS, he started asking questions regarding it. After my answer, he provided a paper and a pen and asked to write a sample program using applet . I took some time and finished my sample program. He reviewed it and asked me to write the same program using C++. I was trying to gather my old learning’s and code it, but couldn’t complete it. So he asked can you write it in C# or C? As I was aware of C# I wrote the program in C# and immediately presented the paper for review. Then he asked some technical questions and I answered all of it. Then he shook my hands & said you did great !

As I got a positive comment, I was hoping to get placed. Even staffs and friends congratulated me after I told them about it. I couldn’t sleep the whole night, as they mentioned results would be announced tomorrow. Next day to my shock , my name was absent in the placed candidate list. I was so depressed and sad and staffs were consoling me by saying ‘That panel might have been a rejection panel. They would have already selected the numbers they came for.’

Due to that depression, I skipped meals and dint come out of the house even during weekends. Next week another MNC was scheduled to visit our campus for interview. I was thinking to skip it blaming my luck. That Saturday afternoon, the door bell rang. My mom went to open the door. It was my moms friends from next street. They both work in a private school near by for the past 10+ years. She came with sweets as she got a government job in her late forties.  Her kids already got married and well settled, but still she tried for the government job as it was her dream from childhood and finally it came true after 40+ years of wait.  That incident stuck like a jolt to me . I got up and started preparing more rigorously for the next interview.  And I got placed in that Company which became my first Company 🙂

Who is Happy?

Sharing is Caring !!

A crow lived in the forest and was absolutely satisfied in life. But one day he saw a swan. “This swan is so white,” he thought, “and I am so black. This swan must be the happiest bird in the world.” He expressed his thoughts to the swan. “Actually,” the swan replied, “I was feeling that I was the happiest bird around until I saw a parrot, which has two colors. I now think the parrot is the happiest bird in creation.”

The crow then approached the parrot. The parrot explained, “I lived a very happy life until I saw a peacock. I have only two colors, but the peacock has multiple colors.”

The crow then visited a peacock in the zoo and saw that hundreds of people had gathered to see him. After the people had left, the crow approached the peacock. “Dear peacock,” the crow said, “you are so beautiful. Every day thousands of people come to see you. When people see me, they immediately shoo me away. I think you are the happiest bird on the planet.”

The peacock replied, “I always thought that I was the most beautiful and happy bird on the planet. But because of my beauty, I am entrapped in this zoo. I have examined the zoo very carefully, and I have realized that the crow is the only bird not kept in a cage. So for past few days I have been thinking that if I were a crow, I could happily roam everywhere.”

Moral:  We make unnecessary comparison with others and  don’t value what we have. Have a Life ahead valuing the things God has given us. Happiness is being yourself, whatever you are.

Why always me?

Sharing is Caring !!

We always face situations in our life and scream out loud WHY ME/ WHY ALWAYS ME ?

And most of us don’t get an answer to it.

Let me state a short story which will answer this question !!

A frustrated guy goes to nearby church and starts shouting, “Why always me, God,why me?”.

A blind person just beside him assertively says, “Thank you God.”

Engineer – “Why do you thank him, he made you blind, you can’t see, any beautiful thing in life”

Blind person – “Can you? “

It may be a short story, but the message embedded in it is very huge. We always think about how bad everything is and forget all the good things.

Remember happiness in life lies in smaller things !!

A story to end

Sharing is Caring !!

It was half past nine and dad had just came back from the office. As he saw the kids bedroom door was half open, he went to check and close the door. Upon seeing his dad the kid started the conversation.

K: Dad I am not getting any sleep. Can you tell me a story?

D: sure kiddo

Dad goes up to the kid and sits near the bed side and starts to tell a story.

D: Once upon a time …

Kid interrupts

K: Dad why you always start with once upon a time. tell me something different

D: Okay. Long time ago there was a ..

K: dad !! dad !! you are again doing the same. I want a different story in different style

D: A fox was walking through the forest .He saw a crow sitting on a tree branch with a fine piece of cheese in her beak.

K: And the fox stole the cheese. This is stupid story dad. you know nothing. why don’t you weave a story for me so I can sleep in peace?

Dad gets irritated but cools himself down

D: As you said I am boring and I dono how to weave a story, so you yourself tell a good story

K: Hear me dad. Far far away in a small and old house, there was a broken pipe. Instead of water, tears came out of it. As the pipe was broken tears gushed through it and the tears never stopped.

D: And then?

K: Close the door and go to sleep !!

GOOOOD Girl

Sharing is Caring !!

I was so bored today that I searched for a topic to scribble about in my Blog. This topic under Indiblogger kind of looked like a fun topic to write about. So here is my take on it.

Well I for one feel that, as a Human everybody has both Good and Bad qualities in them. As we all love to break the rules, the bad things (as labelled by society) always amuses us.

The world we live in is so cruel that all our acts are looked upon, tagged , stereotyped and labelled as either good/bad.

But in the End, its upon oneself to think about others opinions or let it go.

Why ask for others opinions when it doesn’t even matter?

Define your own definitions of Good and Bad and Be yourself.

As everyone at some point of their life does at least one BAD thing, the below picture does hold true 😛
