4X Normal Speed: Airtel 4G is HERE

As you might be aware, Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom operator by subscribers, on Thursday (6th August 2015) announced the commercial launch of its high speed 4G services (also called LTE) in 296 towns across India.

They had earlier launched 4G service in select cities such as Bangalore, Chennai in India. Airtel also announced tie-ups with Flipkart and Samsung for bundling 4G handsets with its services.

Well if you are thinking it would be too costly to afford, you are dead wrong, Airtel is giving out these 4G super speed packs in same price as  3G data packs starting at Rs 25, the telecom operator said in a statement.

They have also launched an automated platform called Flexpage that allows customers to track their data usage and get real time usage alerts. With Flexpage, customers can also upgrade their mobile plan on the go, as and when they exhaust their monthly data quota. Under this platform, customers can opt from a range of 4G data plans, with prices starting from Rs 100.

To get started with 4G all you need is to follow the below steps.

  • Get a 4G device
  • Get a 4G Sim
  • Subscribe to 4G Plan

Apart from Airtel stores, Samsung retail stores will also facilitate 4G SIM swaps. If you wish to get 4G sim home delivered, Airtel also gives that option.

Airtel also introduced a new range of ‘Infinity Plans’ starting Rs.999. These plans offer unlimited voice calls along with data benefits and access to Wynk Movies and Wynk Music apps.

To show their top speed, they have also listed a challenge where in if you can show your pack has more speed, they will pay your bill for a whole year. Sounds interesting? give it a try then !!

Lets Digitize India

Introduction:

As we all know, Digital India is an initiative of our beloved Government of India to integrate the government departments and the people of India. It aims at ensuring the government services are made available to citizens electronically by reducing paperwork. The initiative also includes plan to connect rural areas with high-speed internet networks. Digital India has three core components. These include the creation of digital infrastructure, delivering services digitally and digital literacy.

Vision Of Digital India:

Make all Public Services accessible to the common man in his locality, through common service delivery outlets and ensure efficiency, transparency and reliability of such services at affordable costs to realize the basic needs of the common man

Even though this project is slated for completion by 2019, with global tech giants such as Intel fostering our government’s vision of a Digital India through its ‘Digital Skills for India’ and ‘Innovate for India’ initiatives, the project can complete way sooner than the planned date. Intel has been fostering technology as the enabler for creating a digitized India.

Why to Digitize?

Digitizing India is process of evolution. We live in 21st century where everything is getting modernized and digitized. If we still use paper and pen and loads of manual record books at every office, it will look like we haven’t evolved. When whole world is booking tickets online, if we stand in queue to do the same, we go a step backwards in making India a developed nation. So to evolve as a nation and make India a Developed nation we have to Digitize India.

How to Digitize?

We know a fair bit about digitizing. It means making it available online to the world wide web. Digitizing India is like digitizing a Brand. Just like how we promote and market a brand to more exposure in social media, similar steps needs to follow to Digitize India. Nations bright minds have collaborated and came up with National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) as a solution to Digitize India. The plan is to make all government services available via electronic media to the every citizen of India.

How e-Governance helps Digitize India?

e-Governance makes the Government Smart. Through usage of e-Governance common man gets empowered. Through its usage all government services will be available to citizens in a convenient, efficient and transparent manner. The transparency which is much needed in a democracy can be bought back through e-Governance. It is also a wonderful tool to bring accountability and whistle blowing in India. Efficient e-governance is an innovative way to deliver government services and exchange information with citizens in a convenient and transparent way, saving both time and money. Increase in smartphones and internet access can surge the growth of e-governance. With many nations following this path, we can take a leaf out of their books as experience and fasten our process. Also with many multilateral organizations upping efforts to share e-governance experience such as Intel through its ‘Digital Skills for India’ and ‘Innovate for India’ initiatives fostering technology for #DigitialIndia & Better tomorrow.  With innovative apps and technology which can reach common men, we can surely Digitize India and make it top of the developed nation list.

Lets Join hands with INTEL and make #DigitalIndia !!

Guide to Buy Speakers & Home Theater

The advancement of technology has made it possible to recreate your cinema hall experience, right within the confines of your home. Home theatre systems have been designed to offer the exact effects as enjoyed in a movie theatre. They make use of multiple speakers with exclusive sound distribution to highlight each sound effect. It also features a media center which plays CDs, DVDs and is even compatible with USB drives. Speakers & Home Theatre Systems have been able to capitalize on the desire to enjoy a well groomed entertainment experience with absolute flair.

This guide will take you through the whole process of what , why and how you should buy a Home Theatre System.

Whom is this buying guide written for?

  • Those who enjoy theatre like experience at their home
  • Those who wish to purchase a home theatre system for watching movies, hosting parties etc.

What is a Home Theatre System?
A home theatre system is an extensive entertainment system which allows you to recreate commercial home theatre experience, right in your living room. The system features surround speakers, connecting cables, media player and a television set as its main component. It is created to give you detailed sound feedback so that you can enjoy the finer details of your favourite movies, songs and more.

Why do you need a Home Theatre System?
You have always loved the amazing surround sound response in movie theatres and have wished for a similar experience in your own living space. A home theatre system mimics the larger version and is available in a much compact size to deliver the same entertainment experience. You can do a lot more than watch movies; home theatre adds both visual as well as audio enhancements to TV shows, games, songs and any other media that you wish to play. Home Theatre systems are the ideal way to redefine your home entertainment experience.

  • An economical way to experience theatre like viewing pleasure
  • Those who love to watch movies in a self-controlled environment
  • Those who want to relax and enjoy high quality music at home after a day’s hard work
  • Perfect for those who wish to enjoy surround sound experience

How to Buy a Home theatre system?

Before you can select either speakers or electronics to drive your system, take a good look at your room. If it’s big, say on the order of 700 square feet or larger and you crave a visceral experience with movies and music you should seriously consider buying full-size, full-range speakers, and audio separates with a powerful amplifier instead of a receiver. If you’re serious about your movies, room size should be considered.

On the other hand, if your room is small, say 12 by 18 feet, and you never need to feel it shake, a small satellite/subwoofer system and a decent receiver should be adequate for home theater and music. Room size and volume capability go hand in hand and should be linked to your system’s performance/price ratio.

So choose wisely and enjoy the theatrical experience at home !!

Keep your stuff safe and secure with best pen drives

The Pen Drive, also known as Flash drive/thumb drive is a data storage device that includes flash memory with an integrated Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface. These are typically removable and re-writable and physically much smaller than an optical disc. The resurgence of pen drives started with the start of 21st century. During these stages, it kicked out the competitors  floppy disks & CDs as Pen drives are much smaller, faster, have thousands of times more capacity, and are more durable and reliable because they have no moving parts. Additionally, they are immune to electromagnetic interference unlike floppy disks, and are unharmed by surface scratches unlike CDs. Also Pen Drives started to come with more capacity and stylish designs which are way easier to carry around.

The Pen drives were initially used for  storage, data back-up and transfer of computer files. Prices have never been cheaper, and larger capacities are easily available too. If you’re a computer user, you probably have several of them. Apart from using them to just transport your data, there are a myriad other uses for one, as long as you have a one with a decent capacity and speed.

Run Portable Apps

PortableApps is a Windows launcher that can run entirely from your USB drive. What this means is that you can carry a suite of all your favorite applications like Firefox, Chrome, VLC Media Player, Foxit Reader, 7-Zip and more, all on the drive. Plug it into any remote computer and you’ll have all your favorite applications with you. All you have to do is head to the website and download the PortableApps program.

Computer maintenance & troubleshooting

A USB drive can play host to various applications that can help fix, maintain or troubleshoot a computer in need. First, you can start with freely available virus removal tool. Advanced Utilities can be run to do a complete maintenance check (registry clean, removal of temporary files, manage startup programs). Finally, De-Fragmentation apps can be used organize the files for better speed and reliability.

Run an alternate operating system

Linux and various versions of it are available for free. Many versions of Linux are small and light enough to be run completely from a USB drive. This means that you can run and check out Linux for yourself on any existing Windows computer, without making any changes to it! The added advantages of these ‘Live’ builds of Linux is that they have very minimal hardware requirements, which makes them blazing fast, even on older machines.

Automated backup of selected folders

You may have a 500GB hard drive in your computer, but the most important data to you on that drive will be lesser. It could be a folder of your photographs, videos, songs or important documents. Rather than take a complete backup of the drive which is a time-consuming process, you can selectively backup and synchronise certain folders between the hard drive and an external USB Pen drive.

Encrypted Data with self-destruct feature

If you’re paranoid about someone stealing data from your Pen drive, you can secure the data with SafeGuard apps. These apps encrypts data on the drive with advanced encryption. You can assign a password to selected folders or to the entire drive. And we can add a setting to erase the entire contents of the drive if someone enters a wrong password too many times.

Increase performance with Ready Boost

With Windows Vista and Windows 7, if you have a fast enough USB Pen drive, you can use it for Ready Boost. Ready Boost is a feature that uses the space on your USB Pen drive as extra RAM, instantly boosting the overall speed of your Windows system and programs. Not all USB drives are fast enough to be used for Ready Boost. To check, right click on the drive’s icon in My Computer, click Tools and then the Ready Boost tab.

Use it as a ‘key’ to access several PCs

You might have seen this before in the movies; a Pen drive is inserted into a computer and it immediately springs to life. A free application called Predator can be used for exactly the same thing. Download and install Predator, and pair a Pen drive with it. With the Pen drive is plugged in, you can continue to work, but as soon as it is removed, the screen darkens, the computer locks, and keyboard/mouse input is disabled. Plug it back in, and normal usage is restored.

Make a “life-backup”

This can literally be a life saver. Many of us may have not stopped to think about what would happen if we lost all our belongings in a fire, flood or natural calamity. The size and portability of a Pen drive is actually ideal to store digital copies of all your important documents like bank information, credit card details, birth certificates, legal papers, insurance papers and anything else that ties into yours or your family’s life. Be sure to keep one away at in a locker or at a friend’s place in another city for extra peace of mind.

Overall pen drives are mandatory & essential to keep your stuff safe and secure !!
